MG has revealed the key specifications of its new MGU9 EV, with Australia set to become the first market globally to receive the all-electric lifestyle ute. Powered by a 102.2kWh LFP battery and dual electric motors, the MGU9 EV produces 325kW and 700Nm, with all-wheel drive and a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.8 seconds.

Despite its performance focus, the MGU9 EV is designed around the practicality expected of a full-size ute. It can tow up to 3500kg braked, has a 685kg payload and offers a 236-litre frunk, while the tub is capable of carrying a standard pallet. MG claims a 430km WLTP driving range, with 11kW AC charging and DC charging at up to 115kW. A 20-80 per cent DC charge takes approximately 42 minutes.

The ute also features 6.6kW vehicle-to-load capability, allowing external equipment to be powered from the vehicle, along with additional 2.2kW outlets inside the cabin. Comfort and technology features include dual 12.3-inch displays, leather front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker JBL sound system and a heated, ventilated and massaging driver's seat.

Four-wheel electronic air suspension, a 360-degree camera and a five-star ANCAP safety rating round out the specification. MG has yet to announce pricing or Australian launch timing for the MGU9 EV.
