Hyundai has revealed its next-generation Tucson, with the new SUV set to arrive in Australia from mid-2027 with a hybrid powertrain and an available XRT variant.

The new Tucson adopts Hyundai's latest design language, with a larger body, revised proportions and a more muscular appearance. The long-wheelbase version destined for Australia measures 4,700mm long, 1,905mm wide and 1,685mm high, making it 60mm longer, 40mm wider and 20mm taller than the outgoing model.

Inside, the Tucson gains a more technology-focused cabin, with updated infotainment and connectivity systems, while Hyundai says improvements to insulation, sealing and acoustic engineering are intended to reduce cabin noise.

The new model also introduces a range of driver assistance and off-road technologies. These include Hyundai's Smart Terrain Assist, which assesses available traction and terrain difficulty, along with Target Speed Control, Memory Reversing Assist, Ground View Monitor and Trailer Reverse Assist.

For Australia, the Tucson will be offered exclusively with a hybrid powertrain when it arrives in mid-2027. The XRT variant has also been confirmed locally, although the more heavily equipped XRT PRO will remain exclusive to North America.

The Australian-market Tucson will use the long-wheelbase body produced in Korea, rather than the shorter version offered in Europe. Further local specifications, pricing and equipment details are expected closer to its launch.
