Vision BMW ALPINA revealed at Villa d’Este

BMW’s newly acquired ALPINA brand appears set to move even further upmarket

The Vision BMW ALPINA concept previews how BMW plans to reposition the newly integrated ALPINA brand as a more exclusive, luxury-focused alternative to traditional M cars. Revealed at the 2026 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the one-off design study leans heavily into grand touring themes, pairing a long coupe silhouette and subtle detailing with a V8 powertrain and an emphasis on long-distance comfort.

BMW says the concept stays true to ALPINA’s traditional focus on speed, refinement and usability, rather than outright aggression. That approach is reflected in the restrained styling, classic multi-spoke wheels and references to historic models like the Alpina B7 coupe. Inside, the cabin mixes high-end materials and elaborate craftsmanship with BMW’s latest digital interface technology, although some of the concept-car theatrics appear more showpiece than production-ready.

More broadly, the concept suggests BMW sees ALPINA filling the gap between core BMW models and ultra-luxury brands like Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The real test will come next year when the first production BMW ALPINA model arrives, reportedly based on the BMW 7 Series.
