Subaru has announced the all-new Uncharted, an electric SUV set to arrive in Australia in mid-2026, marking the brand’s latest step into the battery-electric market. Positioned as a 'Sport Electric Vehicle' (SEV), the model blends performance-focused characteristics with the off-road capability traditionally associated with Subaru’s SUV range.

The Uncharted is powered by a dual-motor setup producing a combined 252kW. The company claims a 0 - 100km/h acceleration time of around five seconds, placing it competitively among performance-oriented electric SUVs in its class.

Energy is supplied by a 74.7kWh battery sourced from CATL, with a stated driving range of up to 522km. Charging capabilities include DC fast charging at up to 150kW, allowing a 10 - 80 per cent recharge in approximately 30 minutes, along with support for 22kW AC charging. The vehicle also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, enabling external devices to be powered directly from the battery.

Despite its performance focus, Subaru has retained core SUV attributes. The Uncharted offers 211mm of ground clearance and includes systems such as X-Mode and Downhill Assist Control, aimed at maintaining traction and stability across varied terrain.

Design-wise, the model adopts a fastback-style silhouette, with a sloping rear roofline intended to improve aerodynamics while differentiating it from more traditional SUV shapes. A wide stance, 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED lighting contribute to its contemporary appearance.

Inside, the cabin is centred around a 14-inch touchscreen, complemented by wireless smartphone connectivity and dual wireless charging pads. Subaru has retained some physical controls for key functions, reflecting a balance between digital interfaces and usability.

Safety technology includes Subaru’s latest driver-assist suite, featuring systems such as blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and a driver monitoring system.

The Uncharted joins the updated Solterra and the newly revealed Trailseeker, forming part of Subaru’s broader transition toward a multi-model electric SUV lineup. Pricing and final specifications are yet to be confirmed, with further details expected closer to the vehicle’s launch.
